What is Tot School?
According to Carisa at 1+1+1=1 (pretty much the guru of all things Tot School)
"Tot School is focused time with your tot, exposing early learning skills through fun play."Every week or so, I put several different activities, usually tied together by a theme, on a shelf for Sophie to explore. We "play Tot School" when she wants to (which is pretty much all the time - she loves the special activities she only gets to do with Mommy!) and stop when she's done. Even though I may plan the trays to expose her to an idea or practice a particular skill, we play with things in the way she wants to, with maybe the occasional suggestion from me. While she plays, I narrate what she is doing to encourage language development.
I have really come to love this time to focus solely on Sophie, not trying to accomplish anything else while I play with her, just watching her explore and learn.
